Learn to treat and prevent the leading cause of death and disability in the 21st century
In Cooperation with the European Medical Student Association
Today, diseases in which pathology is closely linked to lifestyle (nutrition, physical activity, chronic psychological stress, alcohol and tobacco) are the leading cause of death and cause more than 70% of all medical appointments. Statistics show that those diseases are increasing not only in developed countries but also in developing countries such as in Africa.
Future doctors must understand the underlying pathogenesis of those lifestyle-related diseases to treat and prevent them effectively.
Medical students can become a member of the European Society of Lifestyle Medicine at discounted rates.
ESLM will soon offer the first lifestyle medicine and preventive medicine training programs for ESLM medical students.
The European Medical Student Association is an official partner of the European Society of Lifestyle Medicine.
